Overview
Every published agent gets a hosted page — a standalone web page that you can share as a link. The Website Builder lets you customise the page’s layout, background, typography, and content sections, then publish it so visitors can find and chat with your agent without needing to embed anything on a separate site. If you would rather add your agent to an existing website instead, see Embed Your Agent on Your Website.
The hosted page feature is available on all plans.
Before You Start
Your agent must be published before its page appears in the Website Builder. If you have not completed Quick Start yet, finish the setup wizard first — see Setting Up Your Agent With the Quick Start Wizard. The hosted page goes live the moment your agent is published.

How to Open the Website Builder
In the left sidebar, select Website Builder.
The Website Builder home page lists all your published agents. Each card shows the agent name, document count, and when it was last updated.
Select Preview on a card to open the current hosted page in a new tab, or select Customize to open the editor.
How to Customize Your Page
Selecting Customize (or selecting a card) opens the editor. The editor has three areas:
Toolbar — across the top, with save, publish, undo, redo, preview, and version controls.
Canvas — the center area showing a live preview of your page as you edit it.
Sidebar — on the right, with two tabs: AI Design and Manual.
Using AI Design
Select the AI Design tab in the sidebar.
Type a description of what you want, for example “dark background with a green hero section and bold typography.”
The AI generates a new page design and applies it to the canvas immediately.
Continue the conversation to refine the design. Each message builds on the previous one.
Using Manual Settings
Select the Manual tab in the sidebar.
A Page Settings panel appears with collapsible sections:
Layout — choose how the chat widget is positioned on the page.
Background — set background colour, gradient, or image.
Typography — change fonts for the page.
Header & Footer — enable or customise the page header and footer.
Add Sections — drag content blocks (hero, text, features, CTA, image, testimonial, social, spacer, divider) onto the canvas.
Content Sections — reorder or toggle visibility of existing sections.
SEO & Meta — set page title, description, and social sharing image.
Custom Domain — connect your own domain.
Custom CSS — add custom styles (advanced).
You can also switch between Website + Widget (a full page with a chat widget) and Full Chat (a full-page chat experience with no surrounding content) using the toggle at the top of the Manual panel.
Editing sections directly on the canvas
Select any section on the canvas to open its edit panel in the sidebar. You can change text, images, button labels, and styling for that section without leaving the canvas.
Drag sections up or down to reorder them.
How to Save and Publish Your Page
Saving a draft
Changes save automatically in the background (autosave). The toolbar shows the current save status:
Saving… — save in progress.
Unsaved changes — changes detected, autosave pending.
Saved or Saved just now — changes are stored as a draft (this later reads “Saved Ns ago”).
Save failed. — the last save did not complete; check your connection and try again.
To save manually, select Save Draft in the toolbar. You can also use Cmd+S (Mac) or Ctrl+S (Windows).
Publishing
When your draft is ready, select Publish in the toolbar.
RightAsk checks the page for accessibility issues before publishing. If blocking issues are found, they are listed in the toolbar with a description and a Show on canvas button to locate each issue. Fix the listed items and select Publish again.
Once published, the toolbar shows Published and the live page is updated immediately.
Resetting or reviewing versions
Select Reset to discard unsaved changes and revert to the last saved draft.
Select Versions to view and restore previous published versions of the page.
Custom Domain Setup
A custom domain lets your hosted page appear at your own address, such as chat.yourbusiness.com, instead of the default RightAsk URL.
In the sidebar, select the Manual tab.
Expand the Custom Domain section.
In the Custom Domain field, enter only the hostname — for example,
chat.yourbusiness.com. Do not includehttps://or a path.Select Save Domain.
The panel shows two DNS records to add at your domain registrar:
A CNAME record pointing to
widget.rightask.ai(or an A record for root domains).A TXT verification record.
Add both records in your domain registrar’s DNS settings.
Return to RightAsk and select Verify Domain. DNS changes can take up to 48 hours to propagate. The panel shows the verification status for each check (CNAME, TXT, Hosting) as OK or Pending.
What Happens Next
Once published, your hosted page is live at the RightAsk-provided URL (visible when you select Preview from the Website Builder home) or at your custom domain if configured. Share the link anywhere — social media, email, or your bio.
Any future edits you make become a new draft. Visitors continue to see the last published version until you publish again.
Troubleshooting
The Publish button is disabled. The button is disabled if there are no unpublished changes, or if the page has unresolved blocking accessibility issues. Check the toolbar notice for details. Fix any blocking items listed and select Publish again. If you need to publish despite the warnings, a Publish anyway option appears in the accessibility notice.
Custom domain shows Pending after 24 hours. DNS propagation can take up to 48 hours. Confirm that both the CNAME (or A record) and the TXT verification record were added correctly in your registrar. The panel checks automatically every 10 seconds when verification is pending — you do not need to reload the page. If propagation is complete but the domain still shows Pending, select Verify Domain to trigger a manual check.
Page edits are not appearing after publishing. Select Preview from the Website Builder home to open the live URL. If the preview in the editor and the live page look different, try selecting Reload preview in the toolbar. Clear your browser cache if the live page still appears outdated.
“Unsaved Changes” warning when navigating away. If you try to leave the editor with unsaved changes, an Unsaved Changes dialog appears: “You have unsaved changes that will be lost if you leave.” Select Cancel to go back and save, or Discard Changes to leave without saving.
