Overview
The Quick Start wizard creates an AI chat agent that handles inbound inquiries on your behalf. You choose a setup path, configure your agent’s name, personality, and messaging, optionally upload training documents, test the agent live, and then embed or share it. When you finish, your agent is live and ready to receive conversations.
Before you start
You need a RightAsk account and to be signed in. You do not need to prepare any documents in advance — the document upload step is optional.
Choosing your setup path
The wizard begins on the “Agent Setup” page with the heading “Choose Your Setup Path.” You select one of two modes:
Select Get Started under Influencer Quick Start to follow a 5-step flow. This path pre-fills personality, response style, and messaging with sensible defaults so you can reach deployment faster.
Select Full Setup under Standard Setup to follow a 10-step flow with full control over every setting, including custom appearance and welcome messages.
You can select the back arrow at the bottom of the screen to return to the dashboard without starting either flow.
Completing the wizard steps
Standard Setup steps
The Standard Setup includes 10 sequential steps. The Influencer Quick Start follows steps 2, 3, 7, 9, and 10 only — steps 1, 4, 5, 6, and 8 are skipped and pre-filled automatically.
Step 1: What type of assets will you be working with? (Standard only)
This step appears under the “Agent Setup” page header.
Select one or more asset types that describe the intellectual property you work with. The available options are: Music, Film, Audio, Brand, Photography, Publications, Art, Other.
Select the forward arrow to continue. At least one asset type must be selected before the forward arrow becomes active.
Step 2: Give your agent a name
This step appears under the heading “Give your agent a name.”
Enter a name in the text field (placeholder: “What should we call you?”). The name must be between 1 and 50 characters.
Optionally, select Generate Name to have AI suggest a name based on your selected asset types. The button label changes to “Generating” while the request is in progress.
Select the forward arrow to continue. The forward arrow is disabled until a valid name is entered.
Step 3: Choose your agent’s personality
This step appears under the heading “Choose [agent name]'s personality.”
Select one of the four personality options: Professional, Friendly, Direct, or Creative.
Select the forward arrow to continue. A selection is required to proceed.
Step 4: Set your agent’s response style (Standard only)
This step appears under the heading “Set [agent name]'s response style.”
Select one of the three response style options: Concise, Detailed, or Balanced.
Concise: short, direct answers.
Detailed: longer, in-depth replies.
Balanced: a natural mix.
Select the forward arrow to continue. A selection is required to proceed.
Step 5: Customize your agent’s appearance (Standard only)
This step appears under the heading “Customize [agent name]'s appearance.”
The page is split into a Preview panel and a Customize panel.
In the Customize panel, select an avatar style by choosing one of the colored gradient circles under Avatar Style.
Optionally expand Font Style to change the font family and related settings.
Optionally expand Font Color to change the chat font color using the inline color picker.
Optionally expand Widget Style to change the Background Color and Border Color.
Select the forward arrow to continue. Appearance changes are saved automatically.
Step 6: Write your agent’s welcome message (Standard only)
This step appears under the heading “Write [agent name]'s welcome message.”
You must fill in all three message fields before the forward arrow becomes active.
Enter text in the Welcome Message field (placeholder: “How your agent will welcome visitors”). This is the first message visitors see when they open the chat.
Enter text in the Fallback Message field (placeholder: “How your agent will respond when it doesn’t understand”). This message appears when the agent cannot understand a visitor’s question.
Enter text in the Offline Message field (placeholder: “How your agent will respond when it is not available”). This message appears when the agent is offline.
Optionally, select Generate Message next to any field to generate a suggestion based on your agent's name, asset types, personality, and response style.
Select the forward arrow to continue.
Step 7: Train your agent
This step appears under the heading “Train [agent name].”
Documents are optional. If you do not upload any documents, your agent will still be created and deployed.
What to upload:
The expandable Pro Tip: What to Upload section suggests uploading:
Rate card with pricing for posts, stories, videos, and packages
Media kit with audience demographics and engagement stats

To upload files:
Select or drag files into the document upload area.
Optionally, use the cloud import option to import files from connected cloud storage.
Select the forward arrow to continue.
When you select the forward arrow, a progress dialog appears. The dialog shows one of four states:
“Creating Your Agent” (or “Updating Your Agent” if you went back and edited settings) — your agent is being set up in RightAsk.
“Uploading Documents” — your files are being processed, shown as a progress bar (“Uploading X of Y documents…”).
“Success!” — your agent and documents are ready.
“Upload Failed” — one or more files could not be uploaded.
If an upload fails, the dialog shows which files failed and offers a Try Again button to retry those files, or a Continue Without Documents button to skip the failed files and move on.
Step 8: Review your knowledge base (Standard only)
This step appears under the heading “Review Your Knowledge Base.”
Review the list of uploaded documents. Each document shows its name, file size, upload date, and processing status: Ready, Processing, Pending, or Failed.

Optionally select the delete icon on a document row (visible on hover) to delete a single document. A confirmation dialog titled “Delete Document” appears — select Delete to confirm or Cancel to go back.
Select the forward arrow to continue. You do not need all documents to show “Ready” before proceeding; processing continues in the background.
Step 9: Review and test your agent
This step appears under the heading “Review and Test [agent name].”
Your agent is automatically published at this step so the live chat session can start.
Use the embedded chat window to send test messages. Enter a question and press send to see how your agent responds.
Optionally, enter a website URL in the “https://example.com” field and select View Live Preview to open a preview of how your agent looks embedded on that site.
Select the forward arrow to continue when you are satisfied.
Step 10: Share your agent
This step appears under the heading “Share Your Agent.”
The page has two tabs: Embed Code and Hosted Page.
Embed Code tab:
Copy the embed code displayed in the code block by selecting Copy to Clipboard.
Paste the code before the closing
</body>tag on your website.Optionally, add domains to the Allowed Domains section to restrict which websites can load the embed. Enter a domain in the
“example.com”field and select the plus button to add it. Domains can be removed by selecting the X next to each entry. Leave empty to allow all domains.
Hosted Page tab:
If your account has a username configured, your agent’s hosted URL is displayed here in the format
widget.rightask.ai/chat/[username]/[slug].Select the copy button next to the URL to copy it.
Select Preview to open the hosted page in a new tab.
Select Customize URL to open the “Edit URL Slug” dialog. Enter a new slug (lowercase letters, numbers, and hyphens, 3–50 characters) and select Save.
Select Customize Page to open the website builder for this agent’s hosted page.
Under Share on Social, select Share on X, Share to Story, Copy for Instagram, or Copy for LinkedIn to distribute your agent’s hosted link.
If you have not set a username, the tab shows a prompt to select Go to Account Settings and configure one first.
To finish:
Select the forward arrow to save your allowed domains configuration and navigate to your agent’s inbox.
What happens next
After you select the forward arrow on the Share Your Agent step, your agent is live. You are taken to your agent’s inbox where you can monitor incoming conversations. The agent is published and will respond to visitors on any embedded or hosted page. You can continue to add documents, adjust configuration, and monitor analytics from the agent settings at any time.
Troubleshooting
The wizard loads but skips straight to step 1 instead of the mode selector. The wizard saves your progress in your browser. If you previously started a session, it restores from where you left off. To start fresh, complete the wizard or reload and clear your browser’s local storage for the RightAsk site.
A document upload fails. The progress dialog lists the files that failed. Select Try Again to retry those specific files. Common causes are files that exceed the 4.5 MB size limit, unsupported file types, or a network interruption. If the problem persists, select Continue Without Documents to skip the upload and add documents later from the agent configuration page.
The document shows “Failed” status on the Review Your Knowledge Base step. Processing failures are usually caused by files that cannot be parsed (corrupted or password-protected files are common examples). Delete the document using the delete icon and try re-uploading a clean copy.
The agent is not responding after setup. Confirm that the embed code is placed before the closing </body> tag, not inside <head>. If you set allowed domains, confirm the domain where the widget is embedded matches exactly what you entered — including or excluding www matters. Check your browser’s developer console for any script errors.
