Meet Your In-App Assistant

Your assistant is a chat-based helper that works across your agents, contacts, invoices, contracts, and files, and it never changes anything until you approve it.

Overview

RightAsk includes a built-in assistant that lives on the Home page. You can ask it questions in plain language and it answers using your own data. When something needs to change, such as an email drafted, an invoice created, or files tagged, the assistant does not do it directly. It prepares the change as a card that you review and approve. Nothing is sent, created, or deleted until you approve it.

How to open your assistant

Select Home in the left sidebar, under Workspace. Home opens on the Chat tab.

The five tabs on Home

The Priorities tab shows a count when work is waiting.

Starting a conversation

The empty Chat tab asks What should we move forward? and offers six starting points. Select any one to send it as a message:

  1. Which leads should I focus on today?

  2. Draft a follow-up to my warmest lead

  3. How’s my business doing right now?

  4. Which invoices are overdue?

  5. Review my files for missing details

  6. Improve my agent

Select More ways I can help to see six more:

  • Set Up a New Agent

  • Create a Campaign

  • Review Contracts

  • Draft an Invoice

  • Import From Dropbox or OneDrive

  • Create a Metadata Field

You can also type anything you like into the Message your assistant field instead of using a starting point.

Review my files for missing details behaves differently from the others. Instead of sending a message, it runs a check over your asset library and reports what it finds. It reviews your 1,000 oldest files; if you have more than that, a message confirms the limit was reached.

What the assistant can see

The assistant answers from your own account data. It can read:

  • Your agents and their configuration

  • Conversations your agents have had, and the leads captured from them

  • Your contacts

  • Your invoices and contracts

  • Your asset library, its tags, and your custom metadata fields

  • Your business profile and account status

  • Which integrations you have connected

It cannot see anything outside your account.

What the assistant can do

Every change the assistant makes arrives as a card you approve. The full list of card types, what each one does, and what each one deliberately does not do is covered in How the Assistant’s Approval Cards Work.

In short, the assistant can prepare:

  • Follow-up emails, payment chases, signature chases, and campaigns, all saved to Mail as drafts and never sent

  • Square invoice drafts and contract drafts

  • A new agent, or changes to an existing agent’s settings

  • Tags, metadata fields, and knowledge-base attachments for your files

  • File imports from Dropbox or OneDrive

  • Updates to a contact’s details

Working through your priorities

Select the Priorities tab to see work waiting for you. It has up to two sections:

  • Actions: cards ready for review. The subheading tells you how many are ready.

  • Needs Attention: contacts worth following up on. Select Draft on any row and the assistant prepares a follow-up email for you to review.

When there is nothing waiting, Priorities shows You’re All Caught Up with a Check Again button. On a brand-new account it shows Your Next Steps, in One Place instead.

Select Check Again at any time to re-scan your contacts, contracts, and invoices.

Managing your conversations

Chat keeps a history of separate threads. On a wide screen these controls sit beside the conversation; on a phone the transcript takes the full width.

  • The Threads list shows your past conversations. Select one to reopen it.

  • Select the panel icon at the top left to hide or show the Threads list.

  • Select the new-chat icon at the top right to start a fresh conversation.

  • To delete a thread, select its delete control. A Delete Thread dialog confirms. This cannot be undone.

Reviewing what has already happened

Select the History tab to see every action you approved or dismissed, newest first, with a link to the result where one exists. Select Load More at the bottom to go further back.

Connecting Dropbox or OneDrive

Select the Connected Apps tab to let the assistant read files from your cloud storage. See Connecting Apps to Your Assistant for the full walkthrough.

What happens next

Anything you approve lands in the part of RightAsk it belongs to: email drafts in Mail > Drafts, invoices in Business > Invoices, tags on your files in Assets. The History tab keeps a record with a link to each result.

Troubleshooting

The assistant says it does not have any data on something I know exists. The assistant only reads data in your own account. If you expect leads but have none, your agent may not be published yet, so check the Agents page. If you expect invoices, confirm Square is connected under Integrations > Payments.

A starting point does nothing when I select it. The starting points are disabled while the assistant is still replying. Wait for the current reply to finish, then try again.

An error banner appears above the conversation. Select Try Again in the banner to resend your last message. If it keeps failing, check your internet connection and reload the page.

Priorities shows “Can’t Check Your Priorities”. The scan could not reach the server. Select Try Again. Nothing has been lost, because no priorities are removed by a failed check.

I approved something but cannot find the result. Open the History tab and find the action. Where a result can be linked, the entry includes a link straight to it.
